Assessor’s
Appeals Management and Automation Project...
In
previous years the Assessor has manually processed as many as
26,000 paper based appeals, each one requiring an individual
file folder and physical transportation to appropriate divisions.
This process was not only cumbersome but very labor intensive.
In
partnership with the Maricopa County Office of Enterprise Technology,
the Assessor’s office modernized the appeal process into
an Electronic Document Management Software (EDMS) system. This
EDMS system utilizes electronic folders to route documents to
the appropriate division for processing. It has streamlined
the workflow, provided better visibility of staff workload,
and is now in alignment with the Maricopa County Green initiative
by eliminating the need to print paper documents. |

Parcel
and Zoning Rectification Project...
The
objective of this project was to align all county GIS mapping
layers to provide for accurate alignment with GDACS. The project
team systematically divided 9,200 plus square miles of the
county into grids, aligned the data, quality assured the grids
and replaced its existing layers with new, more accurate data,
which was then distributed and made available to all county
agencies through network systems and data servers.
In
addition, the increased accuracy of the mapping data that this
project provided to the Assessor’s Interactive Maps website
was the most impacted as this site receives over two million
requests for data monthly, with an average amount of 791 gigabytes
of data transferred. |
