Assessor's Office Divisions

The Assessor's Office is composed of seven divisions:

  • The Administrative Division of the Assessor's Office provides the leadership and strategic vision to support the employees of the department so they can achieve their departmental missions. This includes human resource activity, procurement, budget, legislative bill tracking and intergovernmental communication. The newest development in this area is the formation of the internal audit group that provides the County Assessor with an independent consulting and investigative function to examine, evaluate, inspect, critique and report assessor activities.
  • The Litigation Division of provides all support to the County Attorney and Board of Supervisors to arrive at valuation and classification decisions that have been appealed to the Judicial Branch of government for resolution.
  • The GIS/Mapping Division provides spatial data for the Assessor's Office and for other County agencies so they can analyze geographic information.
  • The Information Services Division in cooperation with the Office of Enterprise Technology, manages all aspects of the computing environment for the Assessor's office including data center operations, end-user support, web presence and applications/database maintenance.
  • The Personal Property Division establishes and maintains accurate data on each account for the tax rolls. This includes mobile home valuations.
  • The Real Property/CAMA Division is responsible for assessing and valuing residential and commercial real estate as well as vacant land within the County. The valuation process includes mass appraisal methodology to create valuation models for various property types. These valuation models are then used to accurately and efficiently determine property values throughout the County. They provide property characteristics and valuation information to external and internal customers, ensuring compliance with Arizona State laws. The Real Property Division also handles administrative appeals regarding assessments.
  • The Support Services Division is the public face of the agency and provides important administrative and coordination functions for the county government and citizens. These include records management, processing requests, deeds processing, tax roll corrections and registrations. The four public service counters throughout the County and information resource functions provide reliable data to the public, government agencies, and internal customers.
