One of our GIS Technicians, Jorge Palomino, is being deployed to Afghanistan. Maricopa County presented him with the county flag which he will carry with him on his tour of duty. Jorge is a staff sergeant with the Arizona Air National Guard 161st Air Refueling Wing. Upon his return from Afghanistan he will proudly display photographs of the flag with his unit.

Jorge has been with the Maricopa County Assessor's office since November, 2002 and has been in the military for 16 years. He is also a co-founder of the All Maricopa County Color Guard who post colors at many of the county's special events.

His wife, Alicia, and four children, along with his co-workers and friends will anxiously await and pray for his safe return.
