- A public employee or public official who want to apply for the relief afforded by A.R.S. § § 11-483, 11-484, 16-153, and/or 28-454 and
- A person, who reasonably believes that the person’s life or safety or that of another person is in danger and that redacting their full name, residential address and telephone number will serve to reduce danger.
What is protected:
Prohibits the general public from accessing your full name, residential address and telephone number that are contained in instruments, writings, and information from one or all of the following offices of Maricopa County:
- Voter’s Registration
- Motor Vehicle Division
Who is eligible:
According to the Arizona Revised Statue A.R.S. § 11-484
Eligible person means a peace officer, justice, judge, commissioner, public defender, prosecutor, code enforcement office, member of the board of executive clemency, law enforcement support staff member, national guard member who is acting in support of a law enforcement agency, person who is protected under an order of protection or injunction against harassment or firefighter who is assigned to the Arizona counterterrorism center in the department of public safety.
How to apply?
Your commanding officer will file the affidavit with the presiding judge of the superior court in the county in which the affiant resides. Once approved, the Assessor’s office has 10 days after receiving the order to redact your records.
