Legislative & Community Outreach Representative
Exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic new senior leadership team in the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office. We are seeking a bright, self-motivated professional with education and experience in governmental and legislative relations to be part of our newly formed Communications and Legislative Relations team. Reporting to the Director, you will monitor and analyze legislative activity at the State level, keeping the senior leadership team current and informed on key legislation impacting property valuation in Maricopa County. You will attend legislative sessions, interface with members of the State Legislature, and research and prepare reports and presentations to support the direction of the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office. You will also be involved in other intergovernmental relations, and help taxpayers and their advocates on behalf of the Assessor as directed. You will collaborate with others on communication as directed, and have a wide range of exposure internally and externally. The ideal candidate will have attained a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, political science, public administration or a related field. You will have at least two years of professional administrative or intergovernmental relations experience. You are an energetic self-starter who possesses excellent and written and verbal communications skills, and works well with others.
